Two veterans of men`s tennis will meet in the first round of the French Open as 32-year-old Philipp Kohlschreiber takes on 30-year-old Nicolas Almagro with the Spaniard leading 5-4 in head-to-head meetings.

Philipp Kohlschreiber may be 32 but his is still hanging around the top 25 and picking up important wins. Just a few weeks ago, he picked up a title on clay after beating Dominic Thiem in the Munich Open final. Prior to that, made it to the semi-final in Barcelona before falling to Rafa Nadal. He was defeated by the Spaniard again in their recent second-round meeting in Rome.
The German has never made it beyond the fourth round at Roland Garros - however, five of his 14 tour titles have come on clay.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Almagro comes into this event having already made it to two clay-court finals in 2016. He was beaten in Buenos Aires by Dominic Thiem but stormed to victory in Estoril, beating Nick Kyrgios, Pablo Carreno Busta and Joao Sousa in the process. In his most recent outing, he fell to Borna Coric in the first round of the Madrid Masters.
The Spaniard has risen back up to No. 49 in the world after world after falling out of the top 100 this time last year.
