Crystal Palace vs Liverpool - Premier League Preview and Odds
August 20, 2018 20:00pm - Selhurst Park
Premier League
After an abysmal start to the last campaign, Crystal Palace looked on course for relegation until veteran manager Roy Hodgson stepped in to steady the ship. The Eagles failed to earn a point in their first seven games but finished the season in a respectable 11th place. The achievement helped to restore the reputation of a man whose stock fell considerably after a doomed spell as England Boss.
This season, expectations are higher with a top-10 finish the target. And the Londoners got off to the perfect start, winning 2-0 away to newcomers Fulham on the opening day. Their first home game provides a tougher challenge as title hopefuls Liverpool make the long trip south to Selhurst Park.
Jurgen Klopp`s men also got off to a flying start scoring four without reply against West Ham at Anfield last weekend. They could go top of the table on goal difference on Monday night if they win by the same margin.
Liverpool have won four of the last five meetings between the two including the last three at Selhurst Park. Last season, the game finished 1-2 in favour of the Reds. That was the last time Crystal Palace lost a Premier League match.
Klopp will be grateful to have the luxury of a selection headache ahead of the game with Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson and Fabinho all in contention in the centre of midfield.
Mane, Firmino and Salah with provide the goal threat once again.

Betting odds and tips
Liverpool have had the better of Crystal Palace in recent years and were the last time to beat them in the league. With an even stronger squad at their disposal this year, the Reds should have no trouble overcoming the challenge of the Eagles. However, the Merseyside team have not kept a clean sheet at Selhurst Park since the 1997 so expect both teams to score.
Liverpool to Win and Both Teams to Score is available at 13/8.
