With their Premier League status all but secure, AFC Bournemouth can concentrate on finish as high up the league table as possible. This weekend, they face a Chelsea side who are trying to halt a run of two-straight defeats.

Mission accomplished for Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth`s pre-season objective of securing their Premier League status could be officially achieved this weekend with a win over mid-table neighbours Chelsea. Eddie Howe and his men are remaining coy but only a miraculous set of results can now prevent the Cherries from staying up.

Recent results have not been great with three defeats in their last four including a 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool last time out. In fact, they have lost five of their last seven matches on home soil.

Chelsea ending with a wobble

After remaining unbeaten in their first 14 league games under interim boss Guus Hiddink, Chelsea have now lost two games on the bounce. Defeats away to Swansea and at home to Manchester City have left the Blues in 10th place in the table with five games left to play.

Prior to the defeat at Swansea, the Londoners had won five of their previous six away games. After a disappointing season, the reigning champions are now facing a battle just to finish in the top 10.

Team news

The home side will continue without the injured trio of Tyrone Mings, Benik Afobe and Tokelo Rantie, while Harry Arter and Adam Smith remain doubtful.

Meanwhile, the away side have Loic Remy and Kurt Zouma on the sidelines.
