French Open preview and odds: Agnieszka Radwanska vs Bojana Jovanovski
May 22, 2016 TBC - Roland Garros
World No. 2 Agnieszka Radwanska will renew her quest for a first ever Grand Slam title when she takes on 24-year-old Serbian Bojana Jovanovski in the first round of the French Open at Roland Garros.
Still no major title for Radwanska
While the No. 1 player in women`s tennis has 21 Grand Slam titles to her name, the World No. 2 has yet to win a single one. In fact, Radwanska has only ever reached one final (Wimbledon 2012) and has never progressed beyond the quarter-finals at Roland Garros.
However, the Polish star has been a regular finalist and semi-finalist in WTA events, bagging 18 title in the process, and is the reigning World Tour champion.
In the lead up to this event, she reached the semi-finals in Stuttgart, where she was beaten by Laura Siegemund, before she fell in the first round of the Madrid Masters at the hands of Dominika Cibulkova.
Bojana Jovanovski has been out of action since February and is unlikely to make an instant impact on her comeback. After reaching No. 32 in the ranking table back in 2014, she has been in steady decline since and now sits at No. 122 in the world. Her best performance at this venue came back in 2014 when she made it to the third round.
Betting predictions
Agnieszka Radwanska has been handed a tough draw in this year`s event but it`s not until the second round that things will start to get tricky.
Meanwhile, a lack of form and match fitness will mean an early exit for Bojana Jovanovski.
In the Games Handicap market Back Radwanska -7.5 at 4/6 with Bet365.
