Godolphin will seek to land back-to-back wins in this renewal after enjoying success with Portage in 2016. The stable have had a storming start to Royal Ascot with three victories on the opening day and they have a solid entry for this race. GK Chesterton is progressing well and arrives here on the back of an impressive win at Epsom to make it two wins from two. He will stand a good chance if he can maintain that trajectory.

Fastnet Tempest has also been improving this term but his recent successes have come over slightly shorter trips. As a result, he might be of more interest to each-way punters.

Abe Lincoln was narrowly beaten at Ascot last year but has been absent since. However, there are plenty who feel he will be ready for this trip and could go well on faster ground. Reasonably priced at 10/1 but there are a few question marks.

Tabarrak could prove to be the best value pick for each-way punters. The four-year-old may be carrying top weight but there is just one stone between him and the bottom weight entry. A course and distance winner, his progression seems to be perfectly timed for this race. At a price of 25/1 or more, he looks great value.

Out of a field of 29 runners, GK Chesterton just gets the nod for top spot and should be available at a decent price. Meanwhile, Tabarrak looks like the best of the longer-priced contenders.
