Tottenham Hotspur will look to put one of their top four rivals to the sword on when they welcome eight-ranked Liverpool to Wembley on Sunday afternoon. The visitors themselves will be hoping to build on their superb midweek Champions League performance in Maribor as they look to get their domestic campaign back on track.

Mauricio Pochettino`s men have lost just one of their last 11 Premier League matches and are unbeaten in 10 in all competitions. Yet despite such consistency, they are still five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City and that gap could increase to eight before Sundays last kick off.

Spurs weakness this term has been their home form, with just one league win in four home matches at their temporary Wembley home. That triumph came last weekend against struggling Bournemouth (1-0) and they will be looking to build on that on Sunday.

The North Londoners produced a top class performance in the midweek Champions League trip to the Bernabeu, where they held reigning champions Real Madrid to a draw.

Liverpool have had an up and down start to the season but will arrive in London on the back of a record-breaking 7-0 Champions League win away from home in Maribor. Whether that triumph marks the start of a return to form for the Reds remains to be seen but victory at Wembley would certainly help to give their stuttering league campaign a boost.

Prior to Tuesday night`s rout, Jurgen Klopp`s men had been dominating games and created plenty of chance but struggled to finish teams off. With goals failing to go in one end, there was added pressure at the other which often resulted in sloppy goals being conceded. If they continue to convert their chances, they could quickly find themselves back in the mix for the top four places.
