The Godolphin stale are in good form and have an interesting runner here in the shape of Bay of Poets. After a maiden win at Kempton his formed dipped but picked up again this season with a solid showing in the Derby trial at Epsom before coming a respectable second behind Cliffs Of Moher at Chester. His disappointing performance in the French Derby last time out should not put too many off as the ground will suit him much better here. What`s more, he is backed by the winning trainer and jockey combination from last year`s renewal.
Mirage Dancer lived up to early expectations on his debut but a poor start a Chester last time out held him back. He still put in a good run to finish fourth in that race and there is no reason to believe that he will not continue to progress here.
Those looking for a bigger priced tip should consider Mucho Applause. He came close in two handicaps this season against justified opposition and his connections are quietly confident here. While he might not step up to level required to win this one, he certainly has an each-way chance. And with prices of 25/1 still available, there is some value to be had in backing this talented colt.
Betting odds and tips
