Europa League preview and odds: Porto vs Borussia Dortmund
February 25, 2016 20:05pm - Estádio Do Dragão
Europa League - Round of 32, Second leg
Porto face uphill battle for a place in the last 16 of the Europa League after falling to the tournament favourites Borussia Dortmund in the first leg.
Porto`s European hopes fading
Porto were well on course for the knockout stages of the Champions League when back-to-back defeats in Group G saw them drop into UEFA`s second-tier competition. They now look in danger of dropping out of Europe altogether after falling 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Round of 32 tie.
New boss José Peseiro has not had the best of starts to his career in charge of the Dragões, having lost four of his nine games in charge in all competitions. If he can overturn a 2-0 deficit against the German side, he may just win over some of the fans that were less than impressed by his appointment.
Dortmund favourites to go all the way
Following last week`s Round of 32 first leg matches, Borussia Dortmund have reinforced their position as bookies favourites to win this tournament.
The Germans will continue their quest for their first ever UEFA second-tier crown when they travel to Portugal with a two-goal advantage this week. Thomas Tuchel`s men have been beaten just once in their last nine Europa League away matches. That defeat came against Krasnodar in the group stages, when their progress to the knockout phase had already been confirmed.
