Burnley vs Manchester United - Premier League preview and odds
April 23, 2017 14:15pm - Turf Moor
Premier League
Burnley`s bid to rubber-stamp their Premier League status for another season will continue on Sunday when they host top four hopefuls Manchester United at Turf Moor.
Burnley not out of the woods yet
With 36 points on the board, Burnley are within touching distance of dry land in the quest for Premier League survival. However, with the teams below them picking up point this weekend, defeat against Manchester United could prompt them to start looking over their shoulders.
Sean Dyche`s men will once again be hoping to take full advantage of their great home form as they go in search of their seventh win in nine at Turf Moor. Their only defeat during that run came against second-ranked Tottenham Hotspur (0-2) and their only draw came against league leaders Chelsea (1-1).
Meanwhile, Manchester United remains outsiders to break into the top four, having spent most of the season ranked outside of those coveted Champions League places. However, they will want to remain ready to pounce should Liverpool or Manchester City drop points in the coming weeks.
The Red Devils come into this game on the back a good week, in which they beat Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford and qualified for the semi-finals of the Europa League with a home win over Anderlecht. Although, they probably could have done without the extra 30 minutes of action that it took to get the job done on Thursday night.
Team news
Sam Vokes (tight hamstring), Dean Marney (ACL) and Kevin Long (knee surgery) will be missing for the home side, while Scott Arfield (knee) and Johann Gudmundsson (knee) are both doubtful.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the injured group of Marcos Rojo (knee), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (knee), Juan Mata (groin surgery), Phil Jones (toe) and Chris Smalling (knee).

Betting odds and tips
It has been well documented that 89% of Burnley`s points have been gained on home soil this season. However, United are unbeaten in their last 22 Premier League matches and have scored at least one goals in their last nine away games including three in each of the last three.
The Clarets will be tough to beat but with United likely to mark the score sheet a 1-1 draw in probably the best that the hosts can hope for.
