With their place in the top four under threat, Tottenham Hotspur can`t afford to drop points when they host relegation battlers Brighton and Hove Albion at the Tottenham Stadium on Tuesday night. The visitors themselves kick-off just three points clear of the drop zone with their Premier League status still hanging in the balance.

Despite a dip of form in the league, Spurs found just enough to see off Manchester City over two legs to reach the Champions League semi-finals last week. When the two sides met again in the league at the weekend, it was the Manchester side who grabbed all three points thanks to a single goal from Phil Foden.

Mauricio Pochettino`s men are just a point ahead of fifth-ranked Arsenal but still have their top-four destiny in their own hands with just four games left to play. They are unbeaten in their last six at home, winning five and drawing one.

Meanwhile, Brighton need every point they can get as they look to stave off the threat of relegation. The Seagulls are three points ahead of Cardiff City and have better goal difference but they have added just one point to their tally in the last five Premier League matches.

However, Chris Hughton`s men have picked up four points in their last three away games having won at Crystal Palace and drawn at Wolverhampton Wanderers either side of a defeat to Chelsea.

Betting odds and tips

Wolves are the only side outside of the top six to have taken points from a trip to Spurs this season and the North Londoners have yet to concede a Premier League goal in their new stadium. Overall, Brighton`s task looks to be an insurmountable one.
