Arsenal vs Everton - Premier League Preview and Odds
September 23, 2018 16:00pm - Emirates Stadium
Premier League
Arsenal look to make it four wins in a row as they host an Everton side themselves hoping to break a three-game winless run.
The Gunners were slow out of the blocks under new boss Unai Emery losing their first two games of the season to two of the current top three. However, they bounced back with three-straight wins, the Spaniard gradually putting his stamp on the club after a quarter of a century under the guidance of Arsene Wenger.
In should be noted that their three wins came against sides in the bottom four, so Sunday`s game will be their first test against mid-table opposition. This is the second game they have played at home this week, the other being a 4-2 Europa League win over Vorskla on Thursday.
Arsenal`s last five games have all produced three goals of more with four of them featuring at least four goals. What`s more, both teams scored in all five matches.
Everton have spent big since dispensing with the services of Roberto Martinez over two years ago but have shown very little progress on the pitch. The Spaniard led the club to a fifth place finish in 2014 and remains the manager with the highest win ratio at the club (caretakers aside) since Howard Kendall`s first spell ended in 1987.
Martinez and subsequent coaches have failed to maintain that level despite significant outlay in the transfer market. Marco Silva has not set the world on fire since arriving at Goodison Park although there have been a few positive signs. One win, three draws and a loss from their first five matches have left them in 12th place with a total of six points but failure to pick up any points this weekend would leave them as close to last place as to seventh.
Their last two away games (against Wolves and Bournemouth) both ended 2-2 but the opposition is much tougher this time round. What`s more, they haven`t won away to the Gunners in over 22 years.

Betting odds and tips
Everton have a terrible record away to Arsenal and come into this game on the back of a poor home defeat to West Ham United. In contrast, the North Londoners have the momentum of three straight wins (four including the Europa League) behind them and will be keen to force their way back into the top six with a win.
You can back the Home Win and Both Teams to Score at 6/4.
