December 26, 2016 15:00pm - Turf Moor
Referee: C. Pawson
Premier League
Burnley will look to secure their fourth home win in in five matches when they host 14th-ranked Middlesbrough at Turf Moor on Boxing Day. The visitors themselves will be hoping to record back-to-back home wins for the first time this season.
Burnley happy at home
Burnley have lost five of their last six Premier League matches - however, four of those defeats came away from home. At Turf Moor, things have gone much better for the Clarets, with three wins in their last four matches, the only defeat coming against title hopefuls Manchester City.
After two games on the road, Sean Dyche`s men will be glad to get back in front of their home crowd for this clash against their potential relegation rivals. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven matches but have scored at least one goal in all but one of their home games. Their last four home games produced a total of 16 goals with nine going the way of the Lancashire side.
Meanwhile, fellow Premier League newcomers Middlesbrough will be looking for a win to keep safe distance between themselves and the relegation places. Aitor Karanka`s men come into this game on the back of a comfortable 3-0 win at home to 19th-ranked Swansea City but have yet to record consecutive wins this term.
Away from home, Boro have drawn four of their last five, the exception being a 1-0 defeat at Southampton. Their only previous win on the road came at Sunderland way back in August.
Team news
The home side will have to make do wothout the suspended Matthew Lowton, while Johann Gudmundsson remains a doubt.
Meanwhile, Gaston Ramirez (knee), Viktor Fischer (knee) and James Husband (shoulder) are all out of action for the visitors, while Christian Stuani remains a doubt.

Betting odds and tips
Burnley have earned 16 of their 17 points on home soil. However, they have conceded at least one goal in each of their last seven matches and their last five at home.
Recent games at Turf Moor have proved to be entertaining affairs with 16 goals scored in the last four alone. With both sides finally finding their scoring touches another decent goal tally could be recorded this week.
