Arsenal vs Southampton - Premier League Preview and Odds
February 24, 2019 14:05pm - Emirates Stadium
Premier League
It has been a big week for Arsenal, with progression to the next phase of the Europa League followed by the news that Roma`s Director of Football, Monchi, could be joining the club in the summer. Monchi worked successfully with Gunners` boss Unai Emery at Sevilla and the two have remained good friends since.
Meanwhile, the Londoners have a top four finish to aim for and will continue their quest against relegation battlers Southampton. The Gunners kick off a point behind Manchester United who play Liverpool at the same time. A win on Sunday could lift them back into the top four if the Red Devils fail to win.
The good news for Arsenal fans is that their team has not lost at home in the Premier League since their defeat to Manchester City on the opening day of the season. WhatÂ’s more, they have won their last six in a row at the Emirates.
Opponents Southampton start the day in the bottom three, but can move above Cardiff City id they can avoid defeat on Sunday. Last time out, the Saints were beaten for the first time in five matches when they went down 2-1 at home to Cardiff City. Away from home they are unbeaten in four having won at Huddersfield Town and Leicester City and drawn at Chelsea and Burnley.

Betting odds and tips
Southampton have not won a league match away to Arsenal since 1987 however, they have recorded a couple of League Cup wins at the Emirates, the most recent in 2016. They are also becoming tougher to beat under Ralph Hasenhuttl and have had a full 15 days to prepare for this match.
Both matches between these two finished 3-2 last season, each side winning their home fixture and another close game can be expected here. While the Draw is tempting, the Gunners are strong at home and should have just enough to edge this one.
Alexandre Lacazette has scored in Arsenal`s last three at home and has 10 goals for the season, six of which came on home soil. As a result, he looks a good shout for Anytime Goal scorer with prices of 11/10 available.
You can back Alexandre Lacazette as Anytime Goal Scorer at 11/10.
