The Chesham Stakes is a Listed race open to two-year-old horses. It is run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres). The event was established in 1919 and is named after the 3rd Baron Chesham. Originally held over 5 and then 6 furlongs, the race was extended to 7 furlongs in 1996. The Chesham Stakes is the first race on the last day of the Royal Ascot meeting.
After impressing on her debut, September has been tipped to make another leap forward her. Her stable were successful in last year`s renewal (with double Guineas winner Churchill) so everything seems set up for Aidan OBriens filly to storm to glory here.
However, not everyone is convinced that September has the overall speed for this and that brings Nayleti into the equation. Her stable have won this race three times before and she showed here credentials with a maiden win over Billesdon Brook at Salisbury. She seemed to have plenty left in the tank in that race so the extra furlong should not be a problem. What`s more, there are less question marks over her pace than her rivals making a price of 12/1 very tempting for win and each-way backers alike.
