The Wolferton Handicap is a Handicap race open to horses of four-years and over. It is run over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs (2,012 metres). The race was established in 2002 when Royal Ascot was extended to a five-day event to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

Khairaat`s team will be looking to make it four wins in a row when he takes this step up in class. He went close on his debut and has a perfect record since, making alight work of a string field at Chester last time out. With extra weight and tougher opposition, his true quality will be tested here but there is every reason to suggest that he can continue to progress.

Mythical Madness has found some form at just the right time and secured a decent win at Haydock last time out. Whether he can keep that momentum going here remains to be seen but the 5lb rise should not rule him out.

Godolphin are having a good week and they might just be celebrating again when Kidmenever lines up for this Class 1 race. The French-recruit ran well in Dubai this winter but finished second to a lesser fancied horse last time out. However, he is expected to improve on that here and has the speed to deliver when on top form.

Betting odds and tips

Amongst a strong field, Khairaat just gets the nod ahead of Kidmenever. Both should head up the betting with the former available at a price of around 9/2.
