Levante will be looking for a win to avoid being cut adrift at the bottom of La Liga when they welcome 18th-ranked Las Palmas to Estadio Ciudad de Valencia on Monday night. The visitors could lift themselves out of the bottom three with victory in Valencia.

Four defeats in five for Levante

A run of fur defeats in the last five games has left Levante four points adrift at the bottom of La Liga. A win or even a draw against Las Palmas would keep them within touching distance of their relegations rivals, but defeat would leave them four points adrift of 19th-ranked Sporting Gijon and five points away from the safety zone.

In their last game, Les Granotes lost a 4-3 thriller away from home to Celta de Vigo and prior to that, they secured a rare home win against Rayo Vallecano. Rubis men showed light signs of improvement in both those games and will be hoping to build on that when the team from Gran Canaria pays a visit on Monday evening.

One defeat in four for Las Palmas

Las Palmas are still in the relegation zone, but with a game in hand and just four points separating the 19th and 13th-ranked teams in La Liga, a win on Monday night could elevate them as high as 15th place. The team from Gran Canaria have shown huge signs of improvement under new coach Quique Setien, but they have yet to win on the road under the former Lugo boss.

In their last game, they suffered their first defeat in three four matches when they were beaten at home by title-chasing Atletico Madrid. Prior to that, they played out back-to-back draws against Malaga (home) and Athletic Club (away) and hammered Granada (4-1) at home.

Team news

The home side will have to cope without the services of Victor Casadesus, Ruben Garcia and Jose Mari.

Meanwhile, the visitors will be without Vicente Gomez and Javi Castellano. while Hernan remains a doubt.
