Premier League preview and odds: West Bromwich Albion vs AFC Bournemouth

February 25, 2017 15:00pm - The Hawthorns

Premier League

West Bromwich Albion will look to extend their unbeaten run to five games when they play host to a faltering AFC Bournemouth side at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon. The visitors themselves will be out to break a three-games losing streak.

Baggies chasing down seventh place

With survival already assured, West Brom can now set their sights on catching mid-table rivals Everton and claiming seventh spot in the Premier League table. Such a result would represent a considerable achievement for Tony Pulis and his often-overlooked squad of players.

The Baggies have won six of their last seven matches on home soil, the only defeat coming against an in-form Manchester United side back in December (0-2). The only other team to beat them during their last 11 home matches was Pep Guardiola`s Manchester City who romped to a 4-0 win at the Hawthorns back in October.

Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth come into this game on the back of a six-game winless run and with just one win in their last nine Premier League matches. Away from home, they have lost five of their last six and have just two away wins to their name in their last 14 games.

As a result, the South Coast side have slipped to 14th place in the table and are now just six points above the drop zone. If their current run continues, they may find themselves mentioned in the relegation conversation.

The last six away games that Eddie Howe`s men have played have all produced three goals or more.

Team news

Brendan Galloway has picked up a knock and is unavailable for the home side.

Meanwhile, Adam Federici (knee), Simon Francis (hamstring strain) and Callum Wilson (ACL) are all out of action for the visitors.

Betting odds and tips

West Brom are a force to be reckoned with on home soil and Bournemouth might well come away empty-handed once again. However, if the visitor`s recent away games are anything to go by, there should be a decent goal count in this one.
