Premier League preview and odds: Sunderland vs West Bromwich Albion
April 02, 2016 15:00pm - Stadium of Light
Premier League
Sunderland could move a step closer to the Premier League safety zone on Saturday if they can find a way past a resilient West Bromwich Albion side.
Sunderland unbeaten in three
A run of three straight draws has kept Sunderland in touch with the teams above them, but they remain stranded in the Premier League drop zone. Despite occupying 18th place in the table, the Black Cats are just two points behind 17th-ranked Norwich and have a game in hand.
Sam Allardyce`s men have lost just one of their last five home games (a 0-1 defeat to Man City), having won two and drawn the others. They have conceded at least one goal in their last six home matches.
West Brom performing without presuure
With little left to play for in the Premier League, West Bromwich Albion could be forgiven for taking their foot off the gas. However, Tony Pulis` men have won three of their last five league games and have risen to 11th place in the table with a total of 39 points.
A four-game unbeaten run came to an end in their last game, when they were undone by a 1-0 score-line at home to Norwich City. That game marked their first home defeat in six matches. Away from home, they have won just won of their last nine matches, having drawn four and lost the other four.
Team news
Lamine Kone, Wahbi Khazri and Duncan Watmore are all unavailable for the home side. Meanwhile, the visitors are still without the injured pair of Chris Brunt and James Morrison.

Betting odds and tips
Sunderland need a win but they are finding them hard to come by. Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion can play without pressure and could make life tough for the Mackems.
The drawn looks like a decent bet at 11/5 with Bet365.
