Premier League preview and odds: Manchester United vs Arsenal

February 28, 2016 14:05pm - Old Trafford

Premier League

Manchester United will be looking for a win to boost their chances of securing a top-four finish, when they welcome Premier League title hopefuls Arsenal to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Top four still not out of reach for United

Despite having won just three of their last 12 Premier League matches, Manchester United are still not out of the race for the top four. However, with a dozen games to play, they will need to improve their current form if they are going to overhaul the six point deficit to fourth place.

Last time out, Louis van Gaal`s men were beaten 2-1 away from home by a struggling Sunderland side, and prior to that they were held to 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

Back-to-back wins against lowly opposition in the FA Cup and Europa League, have done little to lift the mood of despondency that has descended upon the Old Trafford faithful. However, a win on Sunday could lift the spirits heading into the run-in.

Gunners gain ground on leaders

A 2-1 win at home to league leaders Leicester City in the last round of matches has put Arsenal right back in the hunt for the Premier League title. The Gunners now sit in third place just two points behind the unlikely pace-setters.

The North London side have lost just one of their last six matches away from home, having won two and drawn the other three. In their last away match, they cruised to a 2-0 win at Bournemouth.

Only neighbours Tottenham have conceded less goals than Arsene Wenger`s men this season.

Team news

The home side are still nursing an extensive injury list that includes Will Keane, Wayne Rooney, Matteo Darmian, Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Luke Shaw.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger will be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere, while Gabriel Paulista is a doubt.
