Manchester City vs West Ham United - Premier League Preview and Odds
February 27, 2019 20:00pm - Etihad Stadium
Premier League
Following their gruelling League Cup triumph over Chelsea on Sunday, Manchester City will resume their pursuit of Liverpool in the Premier League title race. Next up is a home fixture against a West Ham United side who kick off in ninth place following a home win against Fulham last time out.
The Sky Blues might be forgiven for feeling a little jaded after their trophy-winning exploits at the weekend which left both Aymeric Laporte and Fernandinho injured. However, they should have the quality to notch up a fifth-straight home win and their 15th in their last 16.
City have scored heavily at home all season, so any goal-related bets should be considered in this match. Their last 10 league matches at the Etihad have all produced three goals or more and they have won nine of them. A win on Wednesday could see them overtake league leaders Liverpool who play Watford at Anfield on the same night.
Meanwhile, West Ham United are still in the hunt for seventh place despite winning just one in their last five matches. After holding Liverpool and Crystal Palace to 1-1 draws, the Hammers eased to a 3-1 win over struggling Fulham last time out - albeit in controversial circumstances after Javier Hernandez appeared to handle the ball into the net for the equaliser.
Away from home, Manuel Pellegrini`s men have scored just once in their last four matches, earning just a point in the process. What`s more, they have lost their last seven in a row against Manchester City.

Betting odds and tips
Unusually, Manchester City struggled to find the net on Sunday, but they can be expected to return to their goal-scoring ways against a team they have beaten in their last seven meetings.
It is always hard finding value in backing City at home, but the 9/20 available on the Home Win with over 2.5 Goals provides a reasonable option. To boost the price even further, Man City to Win/Over 3.5 Goals is available at 11/10 and has paid out in eight of their last 10 home matches.
You can back Man City to Win/Over 2.5 Goals at 9/20 and Over3.5 Goals at 11/10.
