Newcastle United vs Burnley - Premier League Preview and Odds
February 26, 2019 20:00pm - St. James` Park
Premier League
In the most eye-catching game of Tuesday night`s Premier League line-up, 15th-ranked Newcastle United host 14th-ranked Burnley with both sides looking to move clear of the relegation battle.
Newcastle look to have hit form at the right time, taking 10 points from their last five games to lift them four points clear of the drop zone. The £22m arrival of attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United in January has given them a further boost heading into the final dozen games.
The transfer brought some welcome cheer from supporters frustrated with the lack of backing given to boss Rafa Benitez. However, the deal means the club`s net spend is still close to zero under the Spaniard.
Almiron impressed on his full debut at the Magpies cruised to a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town. Rafa Benitez`s men totally dominated the game with nearly 30 shots on goal and the scoreline could have been much higher. They will hope to carry that momentum into this crucial game against one of their toughest rivals in the fight for survival.
A win on Tuesday would lift the Geordies above Burnley and move them one step closer to safety. They have drawn three of the last five meetings against their opponents, but won 2-1 when the two met at Turf Moor back in November.
After a dreadful start to the season, Burnley are now unbeaten in eight and look on course to avoid relegation. They kick off in 14th place thanks to a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last time out. Their last away game resulted in a 3-1 win at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Sean Dyche`s men remain unbeaten in 2019, their last defeat coming at home to Everton on Boxing Day. Like their hosts, the Clarets will hope to carry the momentum from the Spurs win into this game to extend their unbeaten run to nine.

Betting odds and tips
Burnley are unbeaten in eight including their last four away games, while Newcastle have won their last three home matches on the bounce and have only been beaten by Tottenham Hotspur in their last five Premier League matches.
With both sides finding form at a crucial time, it is hard to predict which way this one will go. However, the last two meetings between the two at St. James` Park both ended in draws and that looks the value pick again here.
You can back the Draw at 23/10.
