Burnley will look to break a four-game winless streak when they host Newcastle at Turf Moor on Monday night. The visitors themselves are seeking a third-straight win and their first away from home this term.

The Clarets set a high bar last term finishing seventh in the league and qualifying for the Europa League. However, they failed to win any of their last five games and brought that form into the current campaign, opening with a draw and four defeats. A pair of wins in September appeared to have stopped the rot, but they have not won another game since and are now just one point above the drop zone with a total of nine points from 12 games.

They picked up a point on the road at Leicester City last time out and will see this game as the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways.

Opponents Newcastle have won just one of their last 13 Premier League away matches, but arrive here on the back of two-straight home wins which were preceded by a draw at Southampton. Those seven point have lifted them out of the relegation zone to 15th place in the table, ahead of Crystal Palace and Burnley on goal difference.

Rafa Benitez`s men have drawn three of their last five on the road and were only narrowly beaten by both Manchester teams.

Betting odds and tips

Burnley seem to have lost the formula that brought them so much success last season. They look shaky in defence and failed to score in three of their last four games. Newcastle are not big goal scorers either but have the joint-best defence outside of the top four. As a result a low goal count can be expected in this game.
