Premier League preview and odds: Leicester City vs Liverpool
February 27, 2017 20:00 pm - King Power Stadium
Premier League
Leicester City will look to escape the relegation zone when they face top four hopefuls Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Monday night. A win for the visitors would put them back in the Champions League qualification places.
First game of post-Ranieri era for Leicester City
Having made the difficult decision to terminate the contract of the Coach that led them to the Premier League title less than a year ago, Leicester City must now turn their attention to fighting a relegation battle. The Foxes were plunged into the drop zone over the weekend following Crystal Palace`s win over Middlesbrough and will need to take all three points to haul themselves back on to safe ground.
The reigning champions have won just one of their last 10 Premier League matches and have lost their last five in a row. Their last two home matches both ended in 3-0 defeats to Chelsea and Manchester United. Most worrying is the fact that they have failed to score in any of their last six league matches. However, they did manage to find the net away to Sevilla in the Champions League in midweek.
Opponents Liverpool broke a five-game winless streak last time out when they eased to a relatively comfortable 2-0 win over top four rivals Tottenham Hotspur. A win on Monday would lift the Reds from fifth to third place in the table, a point behind second-ranked Spurs.
Prior to the Spurs match, Jurgen Klopp`s men appeared to be jaded and lacking in energy so the two-week break and trip to Spain may have done them some good. They have only lost one of their last five matches on the road but all three of their away defeats have come against teams in the bottom half of the table.
Team news
Molla Wague (dislocated shoulder), Islam Slimani (groin problem) and Leonardo Ulloa (thigh) are all out of action for the home side.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without the injured group of Jordan Henderson (foot), Lucas Leiva ( muscular), Oviemuno Ejaria (ankle sprain) and Danny Ings (meniscus tear), while Daniel Sturridge (illness), Dejan Lovren (knee) and Marko Grujic (tendon) are all doubts..

Betting odds and tips
Leicester`s home form has been getting worse as the season has gone on. Having officially entered the relegation zone, the prospect of relegation will now seem even more real and the pressure will start to mount. Even a draw on Monday would leave them in the bottom three and no team has worst form over the last eight games than the Foxes.
Liverpool`s performance against Spurs suggested that their blip may be over. If they can bring that game to the King Power Stadium, the host will be in for a tough night.
