Premier League preview and odds: Watford vs Aston Villa
April 30 , 2016 15:00pm - Vicarage Road Stadium
Premier League
Losing FA Cup semi-finalists Watford and already-relegated Aston Villa will be playing for little more than pride when the two teams meet at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Watford recovering from cup exit
With their FA Cup dream over and the future of their manager still unclear, Watford`s players and fans could be forgiven for feeling a little down this week. However, their overall performance this season should leave them feeling pleased when they look back and reflect at the end of the campaign.
With their Premier League status assured, the Hornets have achieved their main objective and can now look forward to another season in the top flight. They come into this game on the back of a poor run in the league that has seen them win just one of their last seven home matches, having drawn three and lost four.
With four games left to play, Quique Sanchez Flores` men still have an outside chance of securing a top 10 finish.
Villa in turmoil
Aston Villa have just three games left to play before they drop into English football`s second tier. The former-European champions have lost their last 10 games in a row, and have shown nothing in any of their recent games to suggest that they are capable of breaking their losing streak before the end of the season.
The Villains have not won any of their last 18 away games and have only scored one goal in their last six games on the road. With alleged problems on and off the field, there is very little for Villa fans to be positive about ahead of their final three matches.
Team news
The home side will be without the injured Etienne Capoue for this game.
Meanwhile, Villa`s caretaker manager Eric Black will have to make do without Ciaran Clark, Kieron Richardson and Jordan Amavi.
