Liverpool vs Cardiff City - Premier League Preview and Odds
October 27, 2018 15:00pm - Anfield
Premier League
It sometimes feels like Liverpool have yet to hit their stride this season, but despite offering less fluid football than last term, they have conjured up one of the best starts in their history. With nine matches played, they have yet to lose a single game and they only dropped points against immediate rivals Manchester City and Chelsea. Not bad for a team said to be short of their best.
This weekend, they will look to stretch their unbeaten home record in the Premier League to 26 matches when they take on relegation fodder Cardiff City.
In the past, this was the type of game that would make Liverpool fans edgy - the must-win encounter against unfancied opposition. But those kind of psychological issues seem to have been eliminated by Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield faithful will be full of confidence heading into this.
The Reds have not conceded a goal at home in the league since February, highlighting the impact that Virgil van Dijk has had on the team. Even free-scoring Manchester City failed to breach the Reds` defence when they visited at the beginning of October. Klopps men will aiming for their 10th straight Anfield clean sheet on Saturday. They will take to the field full of confidence after thrashing Red Star Belgrade 4-0 in the Champions League in midweek.
Meanwhile, Cardiff City arrive here having lost three and drawn one of their away games this term. Their only goal on the road came in the 4-1 defeat at Chelsea.
The newly-promoted side are favourites to be relegated, but they did pick up a win against big-spending Fulham last time out. That victory broke a run of five-straight defeats in the league and lifted Neil Warnocks men out of the drop zone on goal difference.

Betting odds and tips
Cardiff City`s Premier League away record is as dismal as Liverpool`s home record in impressive. The Bluebirds have only won twice on the road in their last 23 attempts, their last win coming back in 2014. Meanwhile, Liverpool are unbeaten in 25 at home and have not shipped a goal since February.
Only an extraordinary chain of events can prevent a home win here and there is a high chance it will be accompanied by a clean sheet.
You can back Liverpool to Win to Nil at 8/13.
