Premier League preview and odds: Leicester vs Manchester United

November 28, 2015 17:30pm - King Power Stadium

Premier League

The Saturday schedule of Premier League action will be rounded off by a mouth-watering clash between the top two teams when Leicester City take on Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.

Yes, that’s really Leicester City at the top of the table

With 13 games now gone, Leicester City are still refusing to follow the Premier League scri pt. While those around them keep floundering, the Foxes just keep on winning games, including their last four in a row. Coach Claudio Ranieri is remaining as calm and dignified as ever but Leicester fans could be forgiven for revelling in their current position.

The East Midlands team has scored more goals than other side with a total of 28, and leading goal scorer Jamie Vardy is just two goals away from equalling the record for most top-flight goals scored in consecutive games in England. The record is currently held by Jimmy Dunne of Sheffield United who mananged to net in 12 consecutive games during the 1931-32 campaign.

If they can beat Manchester United this weekend, the Foxes will increase their lead at the top of the table even further.

United eyeing top spot

Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United could overtake Leicester City and finish the weekend at the top of the Premier League table with a win on Saturday. Despite their return to the upper reaches of the table, there are still plenty of dissenting voices amongst United fans about the current style of play under the Dutch Coach.

The 20-time league champions side beat a tricky Watford team last time out before being held at home by PSV Eindhoven in the midweek Champions League game.

Team news

With the exception of long-term absentee Matt James, Leicester have a full strength side to choose from.

Meanwhile, United’s current injury list includes Phil Jones, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw.

Leicester’s are one of the top teams to back in the Both Teams to Score market. They score plenty but are also quite generous at the back, having conceded 20 goals already this season. You can back Both Teams to Score at 4/5 with Bet365. Both teams also rank highly when it comes to the Over 2.5 goals market, and you can back that outcome at 11/10 with Betfair.
