Premier League preview and odds: West Bromwich Albion vs Newcastle
December 28, 2015 15:00pm - The Hawthorns
Premier League
West Bromwich Albion will looking for their first win in six Premier League starts when they play host to relegation candidates Newcastle United at the Hawthorns on Monday.
Albion on the slide
West Brom still have not won a Premier League match since they secured a surprise 2-1 victory over title hopefuls Arsenal at the beginning of November. Since then, they have drawn three and lost two matches and are now in danger of getting dragged into a relegation battle.
Last time out, the Baggies fell 1-0 away to manager-less Swansea City. Prior to that they were defeated at home by AFC Bournemouth. They now remain precariously positioned just three points clear of the drop zone.
Magpies stunned by late Toffees strike
Newcastle lost for the first time in four games on Boxing Day when they were cruelly undone by a last gasp Everton goal at St. JamesÂ’ Park. The defeat brought to an end a mini-revival for Steve McClaren`s men and leaves them stranded back in the bottom three on goal difference. They will be boosted by the fact they have won two of their last three games on the road.
Team news
West Brom will welcome back James McClean and Salomon Rondon from suspension.
Meanwhile, the Geordies will hand a late fitness test to Jamal Lascelles, but will definitely be without the injured group of Papiss Cisse, Mike Williamson, Massadio Haidara, Rolando Aarons, Tim Krul, Steven Taylor, Emannuel Riviere and Gabriel Obertan.

Betting odds and tips
West Brom have now won just one of their last four home games and are looking more like relegation candidates with each passing week. Newcastle were unlucky to lose at the weekend after putting in a strong second half performance against Everton. They have won two of their last three on the road and could cause problems for Tony PulisÂ’ men.
The Newcastle-Draw Double Chance can be backed at 7/10 with Bet365.
