Premier League preview and odds: Manchester United vs Everton
April 03, 2016 16:00pm - Old Trafford
Premier League
Manchester United`s battle for a place in the Premier League`s top four will continue late on Saturday afternoon, when they host 12th-ranked Everton at Old Trafford.
Champions League qualification crucial for United
Once again, Manchester United have been linked with many high-profile names in the transfer rumour mill. However, failure to qualify for the Champions League football could affect their ability to attract their top targets this summer.
After a frustrating season, it is expected that current Coach Luis van Gaal will be replaced at the end of the season, with Jose Mourinho the favourite to take over (as reported by the Spanish newspaper El Pais).
In their last league match, the Red Devils beat fourth-ranked Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium to record their third win in four games. As a result, they now sit just one point behind their city rivals, level on points with West Ham United.
Everton stuck in bottom half
Everton remain firmly rooted in the bottom half of the Premier League table, although they do have games in hand over their rivals. The Merseyside club have lost three of their last four leagues games, with all three defeats coming on home soil. Their last win came away from home at bottom club Aston Villa.
Away from home, their record makes much better reading with just one defeat in their last 14 games. That run includes six wins and seven draws. In addition, they have scored at least one goal in eight of their last nine away games, including three in each of their last three games.
Team news
The Manchester club are still without Bastian Schweinsteiger, Will Keane, and Luke Shaw, while Phil Jones remains a doubt.
Steven Pienaar, Tyias Browning and Tony Hibbert will all be missing for the visitors, however Bryan Oviedo stands a chance of being included.
