Portugal vs Chile - 2017 Confederations Cup Preview and Odds
June 28, 2017 19:00pm - Kazan Arena
Confederations Cup - Group B
In what promises to be a mouth-watering Confederations Cup semi-final, Euro 2016 champions Portugal will take on Copa America holders Chile at the Kazan Arena on Wednesday night. The European side will start as favourites but if Chile can find their A game, they will have a great chance here. Either way, with plenty of attacking flair on both sides, this should be an open and entertaining encounter.
Portugal are the tournament`s joint top scorers so far with a total of seven goals from three games played. They have scored in all but one of the matches they have played since winning the Euros last summer. Of course, Cristiano Ronaldo is their main provider with 14 goals from their last 10 games.
Meanwhile, Chile have some incredible attacking talent of their own, although they have failed to fire on all four cylinders so far in this competition. Despite that, they remain unbeaten and have scored in each of the three games they have played.
The South Americans are no strangers to top level opposition having won the last two editions of the Copa America and will hold no fear heading into this game. And if Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal can hit top form, they will give the Portuguese plenty to worry about.
With their now trademark attacking style, the Chileans will look to overwhelm their opponents in the midfield area and throw bodies forward in numbers. Their style of play requires immense physical effort and seems to have taken its toll on the squad recently. However, if they can recharge themselves for this clash they could power their way into the final.

Betting odds and tips
Both teams have scored in four of Chile`s last five fixtures in all competitions and Pizzi`s men have netted in each of their last seven.
Portugal have scored in each of their last 10 matches averaging 3.5 goals per game, so they can be expected to find the net here.
As a result, the Both Teams to Score bet looks worthwhile in this game.
