Premier League preview and odds: Aston Villa vs Everton
March 01, 2016 19:45pm - Villa Park
Premier League
Aston Villa will continue their unlikely quest for Premier League survival at Villa Park on Tuesday night against an Everton side who are unbeaten in their last seven away games.
Villa need to start winning
Aston Villa are eight points adrift in the battle for Premier League survival and look certain to be relegated. It would take a remarkable reversal of form to prevent the demotion of a club that has won just three league matches all season.
With 11 games left to play, Remi Garde`s man may have win more than half of those to stand any chance of retaining their top-flight status. They now face a team that has lost just once on the road all season.
Last time out, the Villains suffered their third defeat in their last four games when they fell 2-1 away to Stoke.
Everton better on the road
Everton will try to salvage some pride from an average season by securing a top 10 finish. With the European places almost certainly out of reach, there is little left for the Toffees to play for apart from Premier League bonus money.
The one area where Roberto Martinez`s men have excelled this season is away from home. Their only defeat on the road came at Arsenal back in October and their overall away record reads W4 D7 L1. Only five teams have picked up more points on the road than the Merseyside club.
Unfortunately, their home form has not been so great, as demonstrated by the 1-0 defeat to West Brom at Goodison Park in their last game.
Team news
The home side will be without Jack Grealish, Libor Kozak, Carlos Sanchez, Admama Traore and Jordan Amavi.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without Tyias Browning and Tony Hibbert, while Muhamed Besic remains the only other doubt.
