La Liga preview and odds: Atletico Madrid vs Real Betis
April 02, 2016 16:00pm - Estadio Vicente Calderon
La Liga
Atletico Madrid are all but out of the title race, but they can keep their feint hopes alive with a win over a Real Betis side who are looking to keep clear of trouble at the other end of the table.
Atleti looking to bounce back from defeat
A disappointing 2-1 defeat away to Sporting Gijon last time out, may have brought Atletico Madrid`s title hopes crashing down, but the Madrid side still have a mathematical chance of catching league leaders Barcelona. In addition, they will want to keep ahead of their city rivals Real Madrid who are just one point behind them in the table.
Diego Simeone`s men have only been beaten once at home in the league this season, and that defeat came against Barcelona back in September. In their most recent home match against Deportivo La Coruna, they cruised to their second consecutive 3-0 win on home soil. In their last nine La Liga home games they have conceded just two goals.
Real Betis six point clear of danger
With just eight matches left to play, Real Betis have a six-point cushion over the relegation zone and look to be on course for La Liga survival. However, their next game is against one of the toughest opponents in the division.
The Seville side have one just one of their last eight away matches, having drawn two and lost the other five. In their last match, they were beaten 1-0 on home soil by Malaga. Team news
Diego Godin, Stefan Savic and Tiago will be unavailable for the home side.
Meanwhile, the visitors will have to make do without Molinero, Portillo and Cristiano Piccini.
