La Liga preview and odds: Barcelona vs Real Madrid
April 02, 2016 20:30pm - Camp Nou
La Liga
This may be one of the least anticipated El Clasico matches in a while, with Barcelona seemingly well on course for yet another La Liga title and Real Madrid stuck in a battle for second place with rivals Atletico.
Barcelona keen to reinforce dominant status
A win in this edition of El Clasico would almost certainly cement Barcelona`s standing at the top of La Liga for yet another season. In addition, it would further emphasise their superiority over their arch rivals from Madrid.
Luis Enrique`s men are unbeaten in 39 games in all competitions and will be further buoyed by the fact they easily beat their opponents 4-0 when the two teams met in Madrid back in November. Last time out, the Blaugrana were held to a 2-2 draw at Villarreal. Prior to that, they had won 12 straight league games.
One defeat in last 15 for Real Madrid
Real Madrid will be hoping to be the team that ends Barcelona`s 39-game unbeaten run in all competitions. A win at the Camp Nou on Saturday might not be enough to reignite their title hopes but it would at least help to erase the painful memory of their crushing 4-0 defeat back in November.
Since that defeat, Los Blancos have recruited Zinedine Zidane as a replacement for Rafa Benitez but their league position has only worsened in that time. However, they come into this game on the back of four straight league wins including a 4-0 demolition of Sevilla last time out.
Team news
The home side will be without Andres Iniesta and Sandro Ramirez, while Sergio Busquets is also a doubt.
