La Liga preview and odds: Granada vs Las Palmas

April 30, 2016 22:05pm - Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes

La Liga

Granada will be attempting to keep their head above the relegation water when they welcome an in-form Las Palmas side to Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes on Saturday.

Granada defending slim advantage

Granada are just one points above the drop zone and have three tough games left in which to save their season. First up, is a home fixture against an in-form Las Palmas side, after which they must travel to Sevilla to face their Andalucian rivals. Finally, they must contest a home match against reigning league champions Barcelona.

El Graná are unbeaten in five matches on home soil, having won two and drawn three since new boss José González took over the reins. They come into this fixture on the back of a narrow 2-1 defeat away to Celta de Vigo.

Striker Youssef El-Arabi is enjoying a good run of form having bagged 11 league goals since the turn of the year.

Las Palmas eyeing top eight finish

After spending the first half of the season in and around the relegation positions, Las Palmas are now wallowing in the comfort of the mid-table zone.

Quique Setien`s men have won seven of their last 10 La Liga matches, having drawn one and lost the other two. Away from home, they have won four of their last five, with the only defeat coming on their recent trip to Real Betis. They bounced back from that defeat with a 4-0 demolition of Espanyol on Gran Canaria.

Team news

The home side will have to operate without the services of Isaac Success, Diego Mainz, Dimitri Foulquier and Javi Marquez.

Meanwhile, Javi Castellano is out injured for the Canary Islanders.

Betting odds and tips

Granada are fighting for their lives and will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run on home soil to six games on Saturday night. However, their visitors are playing some great football and will arrive on the mainland full of confidence.
