Premier League
It should be an entertaining game between two sides that favour an attacking style of football when Swansea and Arsenal go head-to-head at the Liberty stadium in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday. Swansea boosted by win at Villa
Swansea City fought hard to earn all three points away at Aston Villa last week in a game that ultimately cost Tim Sherwood his job. They will face a much tougher challenge when second-ranked Arsenal pay a visit to South Wales on Saturday afternoon.
Last weeks victory was the first in six games for Garry Monk`s men and will have given the team a much needed boost - even if the victory did come against the worst team in the league. Second half goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and André Ayew ensured that the team from Wales left the Midlands with all three points after briefly going behind in the 62nd minute.
The positive news for the Swans is that they have only been beaten once at home this season (Stoke) despite having been visited by Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.
Gunners looking to erase memory of disappointing cup exit
After comfortably disposing of Everton by two goals to one in the league last weekend to record their fourth straight win, the Gunners were subsequently dumped out of the League Cup in midweek by tier-two side Sheffield Wednesday.
The North London side put out a decent team for the cup game but were unable to match the effort or ambition of the Championship side. Coach Arsene Wenger will now turn his attentions back to the Premier League where a win away to Swansea would keep the pressure on their title rivals.
Only Stoke have won at the Liberty stadium this term but the Londoners have been in imperious form away from home in the League having won four out of their five games on the road.
Team news
Arsenal are joint-top of the Premier league and joint-top of the injury league with a total of eight players undergoing treatment. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott are the latest players to have joined the crocked list after picking up injuries in midweek.
Meanwhile, Swansea are in the fortunate position of having just one injury doubt as Wayne Routledge continues to recover from a lower leg injury. Recent form (League)
