The bottom two clubs in La Liga will battle it out on Sunday night, as 20th-ranked Levante attempt to draw level on points with a Sporting Gijon side who are currently just a point away from safety.
Levante need to win to avoid being cut adrift
Levante can draw level on points with their relegation rivals from Gijon should they overcome them on Sunday night. If they lose however, they could be cut adrift from the survival race with just seven games to go.
Despite, their lowly position, Levante have shown glimpse of form in recent weeks. They played well in the defeat to Real Madrid, drew away to Real Sociedad and then beat Valencia on home soil before losing 2-1 to Deportivo La Coruna last time out.
Their recent home form has been good, with four wins from their last six games at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
Sporting looking to build on Atletico Madrid win
Sporting Gijon ended a run of four straight La Liga defeats by beating second-ranked Atletico Madrid at El Molinon in the last game week. They will be looking to build on that performance by beating their relegation rivals and lifting themselves out of the drop zone in the process.
Away wins have not come easy for the Asturians who have been beaten on nine of their last 11 road trips. However, they did pinch a win at Valencia (0-1) and a draw at Real Betis (1-1), before falling to Granada (2-0) and Malaga (1-0) in their last two away games.

The home side will be without the injured duo of Ivan Lopez and Tono.
Meanwhile, Alex Menendez and Bernardo Espinosa remain in the treatment room for the visitors.
