Premier League preview and odds: Leicester City vs AFC Bournemouth
January 2, 2015 15:00pm - King Power Stadium
Premier League
Second-ranked Leicester City will kick off their New Year adventure on Saturday with a tricky tie against Premier League new boys AFC Bournemouth.
Foxes still in the race
Leicester City bounced back from their defeat against Liverpool by holding title favourites Manchester City to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night. Once again, Claudio Ranieris men proved that the Leicester bubble has not yet burst, and with half the season gone, they remain well positioned to challenge for a top four place.
Many predicted that the tricky run of holiday fixtures would bring their adventure to an end, but the Foxes have emerged from games against Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City with an impressive haul of seven points from a possible 12.
Cherries looking to keep out of trouble
Having hauled themselves out of the drop zone, Bournemouth will now be hoping to stay clear of danger for the rest of the campaign by continuing their good run of form.
They come into this game on the back of a 2-0 defeat to league leaders Arsenal - a result that brought to an end their six-game unbeaten run. They now face another tough away trip to second-ranked Leicester City.
Team news
Leicester will continue operate without the injured duo of Jeff Schlupp and Matt James, who are both several weeks away from recovery.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth will be without the services of Josh King, Christian Atsu, Callum Wilson, Tommy Elphick, Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings.

Betting odds and tips
Leicester City are strong at home and have beaten every team that they have played outside of the top four at the King Power Stadium, with the exception of Manchester United who held the Foxes to a 1-1 draw. Their only defeat on home soil came at the hands of league leaders Arsenal (2-5). The home side can be backed to win at 10/11 with Bet365.
After a switch of formation against Manchester City, Leicester should revert back to their more familiar set-up for this game which could mean a return to the score sheet for the in-form winger Riyad Mahrez. He can be backed to score first at 11/2 with Bet365.
