Premier League preview and odds: Liverpool vs Chelsea
January 31 , 2017 20:00pm - Anfield
Premier League
Liverpool will look to break a run of three straight defeats in all competitions when they face league leaders Chelsea at Anfield on Tuesday night. The visitors themselves can open up a 13-point gap over their opponents with a win.
One win in eight in all competitions for the Reds
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will attempt to pull his team out of a blip that could put their top four ambitions in jeopardy. With just one win in eight in all competitions and no wins in their last three Premier League matches, the title hopefuls have now slipped down to fourth place, just two points ahead of fifth-ranked Manchester City.
The Reds could give themselves a massive boost by completing a season double over pace-setters Chelsea. With 10 points currently separating the two teams, anything other than a win would surely rule Klopp`s men out of the title race.
The Merseyside team have scored at least one goal in each of their last 10 league games and have suffered just one defeat at Anfield in the last 12 months. However, that defeat came last time out against struggling Swansea City.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have won 15 of their last 16 Premier League matches, conceding just six goals in the process, and are currently eight points clear at the top of the table. Their only defeat in that spell came away from home to third-ranked Tottenham Hotspur.
Antonio Conte`s team have lost just twice on the road this term but both defeats came against two of the current top four. They come into this game on the back of consecutive home wins against Hull City in the league and Brentford in the FA Cup.
Team news
The home side will have to make do without Marko Grujic (tendon injury), Adam Bogdan (ACL injury) and Danny Ings (meniscus Tear), while Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne are both doubts. Meanwhile Sadio Mane could also feature after being flown back from the African Cup of Nations by private jet.

Betting odds and tips
Despite Liverpool`s recent dip in form, they have a decent record against the top teams under Jurgen Klopp. Conversely, Chelsea have twice fallen away from home to top four rivals and their only home defeat this season came against Liverpool.
A draw would suit the visitors and that could play into the hands of the Reds, who will be hoping that the returning Sadio Mane and a fit-again Philippe Coutniho can inspire them to a much-needed win. As a result, the home side look well-priced at 33/20 to grab all three points.
The home win can be backed at 33/20 with Bet365 and offers great value.
