Bet365 Betting On Manchester United
Manchester United are the most successful club in the history of English Football. They may have started life as lowly Newton Heath but, in the 115-years they’ve been Manchester United, they have certainly been the punter’s friend on numerous occasions.
The Premier League
Manchester United have been Champions of England a record 20-times. They won the title in their sixth season in 2008, before winning it 6 more times before the Premier League started in 1992/93. They then won the first ever Premier League Title in 1993, lifting the trophy again in 1994, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013. However, with most of the players that helped Manchester United win the majority of those Premier League Titles now retired, United are currently in a period of rebuilding under new boss Jose Mourinho that may take another season or two before they are ready to win a 21st title.
The FA Cup
Manchester United also jointly hold the record for the number of wins in the FA Cup – 12. They won their first FA Cup in 1909, winning it again in 1948, 1963, 1977, 1983, 1985, 1990, 1994, 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2016. The gap of 2-years between winning it in 2004 and 2016 was a bit of a surprise and, though they failed to defend their trophy in 2017, they only fell to form-side Chelsea. Jose Mourinho has an excellent record of guiding teams to Cup victories, something which he proved again in the 2016/17 season with victory in the EFL CUP.
The EFL Cup
In the earlier part of their history, Manchester United had no strong affiliation to the League Cup, not claiming the first of their 5 victories until 1992. However, since winning the second League Cup in 2006, they have gone on to win it in 2009, 2010 and 2017, with the latter seeing them become the first winners of the newly titled EFL Cup. Betting On Manchester United To Win The FA Community Shield
Unsurprisingly, considering how many times they have appeared in it, Manchester United also hold the record of 21 wins in the FA Community Shield, winning 21 of the 30 they have appeared in. This suggests they could be worth siding with the next time they appear in it.
Europe
Manchester United have been Champions Of Europe on 3 Occasions and, whilst some fans believe this to be a poor haul considering the number of appearances they’ve made in the Champions League or its former equivalents – many clubs would gladly swap places with them. United could qualify for the 2018 Champions League via either the Europa League or a top-4 Premier League spot, and Jose Mourinho may well get some extra money to spend in the close season if they do.
Domestic Double
Manchester United completed the League and FA Cup Double in 1994, 1996 and 1999, whilst they also completed the League and EFL Cup Double in 2009. However, they may need a season or two more under Mourinho’s guidance before they can dream of doing either of those again.
